***High Point Program is again part of your FMHA membership.
No forms need to be completed for eligibility***
Morgan horses must be registered with the American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA). The owner of the horse must be a current member of the Florida Morgan Horse Association except for the Equitation and Overall Amateur Rider/Driver Divisions. In those 2 divisions, the exhibitor must be a current member of the Florida Morgan Horse Association. In the Exceptional Challenge Division, there are very specific rules regarding the riders and horses unique to this division only. Please refer to the Exceptional Challenge Division for details.
The owner/exhibitor must have FMHA membership dues paid by February 1st of the award year in order for their points to count toward the high point awards. All shows prior to this date will count provided that the membership dues are paid by February 1st. If the owner/exhibitor joins after February 1st, only points earned on or after the date of joining will count towards the high point awards.
Points earned at the Citrus Cup Regional Morgan Horse Show will count double towards high point accumulation. The horse/exhibitor must show in a division at least twice (two different shows) to be counted for the high point award.
The deadline for reporting points to the High Point Coordinator is November 30th of the award year.
Points are calculated as follows:
Qualifying classes:
Place: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th
Points: 5 3 2 1
Championship classes:
Place: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th
Points: 10 6 4 2
Points will transfer to the new owner when a horse is sold to another FMHA member in the award year. If the new owner is not an FMHA member and wishes to have the earned points transferred, the new owner must join the FMHA prior to the next show. Junior Exhibitors must not have reached his/her eighteenth (18th) birthday as of December 1st of the award year.
Qualifying horse shows for calculation of the high point awards will be determined by the following:
1)The show must be held in the state of Florida.
2)Except for the Carriage Driving, Dressage, and Open Shows High Point Awards, the show must offer a Morgan Division with at least one class in each of the following disciplines: Morgan English Pleasure, Morgan Pleasure Driving, Morgan Hunter Pleasure, Morgan Western Pleasure, Morgan Classic Pleasure Saddle, Morgan Classic Pleasure Driving, Morgan Equitation, Morgan Walk/Trot. Points will be accumulated in the specific class shown, i.e., amateur riders showing in an open class will accumulate open high points, not amateur high points.
Currently the following shows are eligible for the FMHA High Point program:
1)Jubilee of Breeds
2)Gasparilla Charity
3)Citrus Cup Regional
4)Summer Fun
5)Summer’s End
6)Harvest Days
